Before you start

  1. Have your Hostinger Email account ready. Some values are unique to your account and come from the Hostinger hPanel.
  2. Open DNS at GoDaddy: Sign in to GoDaddy and open My Products. Under Domains, open the Portfolio tab. Select the three dots (...) next to your domain, then Edit DNS.
  3. Keep both tabs open and add the records below one at a time.

Copy each value with the button next to it. Rows marked “Copy from Hostinger hPanel” are unique to your account.

Step by step in GoDaddy

Point your MX records

MX records tell every other mail server where to deliver email for your domain. They must point to your provider and nowhere else.

Type
MX
Name
@
Priority
5
Value
mx1.hostinger.com
  • Hostinger's manual guide uses the host's default TTL.
Type
MX
Name
@
Priority
10
Value
mx2.hostinger.com

In GoDaddy

  1. Under DNS Records, select Add New Record.
  2. Choose MX as the type.
  3. Fill in Name, Priority and Value, and pick the TTL from the drop-down list.
  4. Select Save.
  5. Repeat for each MX record above.

Add the SPF record

SPF is a TXT record that lists the services allowed to send email from your domain, so receivers can spot forgeries.

Type
TXT
Name
@
Value
v=spf1 include:_spf.mail.hostinger.com ~all
  • Keep a single SPF record. If you also use a marketing or sending service, merge it into the same line, for example v=spf1 include:_spf.mail.hostinger.com include:emailmktprovider.tld ~all.
  • When moving DNS manually, delete any old SPF record before adding this one.

In GoDaddy

  1. Under DNS Records, select Add New Record.
  2. Choose TXT as the type.
  3. Fill in Name and Value, and pick the TTL from the drop-down list. Copy and paste the value so the spacing stays exact.
  4. Select Save.

Set up DKIM

DKIM publishes a public key so receivers can confirm your messages really came from you and were not changed on the way.

Type
CNAME
Name
hostingermail-a._domainkey
Value
hostingermail-a.dkim.mail.hostinger.com
Type
CNAME
Name
hostingermail-b._domainkey
Value
hostingermail-b.dkim.mail.hostinger.com
Type
CNAME
Name
hostingermail-c._domainkey
Value
hostingermail-c.dkim.mail.hostinger.com

In GoDaddy

  1. Under DNS Records, select Add New Record.
  2. Choose CNAME as the type.
  3. Fill in Name and Value, and pick the TTL from the drop-down list.
  4. Select Save.
  5. Repeat for each CNAME record above.

Add the DMARC record (recommended)

DMARC tells receivers what to do with mail that fails SPF and DKIM, and where to send reports about it.

Type
TXT
Name
_dmarc
Value
v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:dmarc@yourdomain.com
  • Replace the report address with a mailbox you read.

In GoDaddy

  1. Under DNS Records, select Add New Record.
  2. Choose TXT as the type.
  3. Fill in Name and Value, and pick the TTL from the drop-down list. Copy and paste the value so the spacing stays exact.
  4. Select Save.

Check your setup

Once the records are saved, run a live check. We look up your domain in public DNS and tell you what is right, missing or wrong, with the fix in GoDaddy’s words.

We only read public DNS records. Nothing is stored.

Common mistakes with Hostinger Email on GoDaddy

Adding a second SPF record

Hostinger says a domain should have a single SPF record. Merge every sender into one line.

Adding only one DKIM record

Hostinger Email uses three DKIM CNAME records: hostingermail-a, -b and -c. Add all three.

GoDaddy: Type only the part before your domain

GoDaddy adds your domain to the Name automatically. Enter _dmarc or google._domainkey, not _dmarc.yourdomain.com, or the record ends up at a doubled name.

Hostinger Email on GoDaddy: questions

Where do I add Hostinger Email DNS records in GoDaddy?

What goes in the Name field at GoDaddy?

Enter @ for records on your bare domain, such as MX and SPF. For the others, enter only the part before your domain, for example hostingermail-a._domainkey. GoDaddy adds your domain automatically.

Where do I get my Hostinger Email DKIM record?

Use the value shown in the table on this page.
