Privacy Policy

Email Setup Wizard is a free tool that helps you set up email on your own domain. We try to collect as little as possible. This page explains what we do collect, why, and who else is involved.

The short version

• No account, no analytics scripts, no advertising cookies.
• The DNS checker looks up public DNS records for the domain you enter. We do not keep a list of domains people check.
• If you send us a message, we use your name, email and message only to reply.

Information you give us

When you use the contact or setup request form, we receive your name, email address, your message and any details you add (such as your domain, email provider or domain host). We use this only to answer you and, if you ask, to help with your setup. Messages are delivered to our inbox through Brevo, an email delivery service, which processes them on our behalf.

The DNS checker

When you run a check, the domain name you enter is sent to our server, which asks a public DNS resolver (Cloudflare DNS over HTTPS) for that domain’s public records, such as MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC. These records are public information that anyone can look up. We use the domain only to produce your result and do not store it with any information about you. To prevent abuse, we may limit how many checks can be run from one connection in a short time.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses and request details to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. This is handled under Cloudflare’s own privacy policy.

Cookies and local storage

We do not set tracking or advertising cookies. Your browser’s local storage remembers a few display choices you make on this site, like dark mode and the accessibility options. These stay on your device and are never sent to us. You can clear them at any time from your browser settings.

Links to other sites

Our guides link to email providers, domain hosts and their documentation. Some links may be affiliate links, which are always labelled. Once you follow a link, the other site’s own privacy policy and cookies apply.

How long we keep information

We keep form messages only as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, then delete them. You can ask us to delete your messages sooner.

Your choices

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it except with the service providers named above.

Children

This site is meant for businesses and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
